Bad Credit Repair

Knowing how to repair bad credit is valuable. How much credit you have and how you use it goes far beyond shopping. Whether you have good or poor credit can affect where you live and even where you work. That is why you need to understand how credit is awarded or denied and what you can do when you are denied credit.

Credit repair is not rocket science. Credit repair is nothing more than communicating with the Credit Bureaus, Collectors and your Creditors. Knowing exactly what to say and how to say it.

Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act

The Federal Fair Credit Reporting Act gives you the right to dispute any and all items on your credit report that you feel is:
Inaccurate,
Misleading, or
Unverifiable.

The Act in large part was drafted in the consumer's favor because the borden of proof was shifted to the creditor and the Credit Bureau. That means if the bureaus cannot verify that the information on your reports is indeed correct, then those items must be deleted. This gives you the advantage and it's in your interest to take advantage of all your rights under this law.

Credit Repair Questions

When you embark on fixing your credit yourself, you need to know that everything a credit repair specialist can do for you legally, you can do for yourself at little or no cost.

Disputing items on your credit report is easy and we will show you how to do it. Getting results from the Credit Bureau however can be difficult and complex at times. It is not a coincidence that complaints against Credit Bureau tops the complaints that the Federal Trade Commission receives.

Don't despair. Remember, the Credit Bureau primary interest is to protect their profits and investigating your dispute cuts into their profit.

When dealing with credit reporting companies and creditors, don't ever take “No” for an answer! If you want the negative items off your credit report, don't just take your first answer and give up. You have to be persistent, in fact in most cases when it comes to fast credit repair, persistence is what triumphs. Just keep disputing and eventually you will win.

What the Credit Bureau Don't Tell You

Each item on your credit report must be proven or it cannot remain in the report. If the credit bureau cannot verify the item when investigated, it must be removed from your file whether or not it's true.

Every negative entry on your report can be denied or challenged at any time. The bureau must reinvestigate and if that item cannot be verified within a "reasonable amount of time", it must be removed from the file.

Items when challenged can be mistakenly erased. Consumers say they often experience computer operator mistakes.

Many times the creditor does not re-verify in time or the credit bureau is busy and does not handle your dispute properly. It must then be deleted.

The older an item, the more difficult re-verification is. It is possible it cannot be verified because records may no longer exist after 1 or 2 years.
