How to Order Your Credit Report

Obtaining your credit report is the first step to take when you embark on credit repair. An amendment to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires each of the major Credit Bureau (Experian, Equifax and TransUnion) to provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every 12 months.

If you plan to buy a house, a car or any other major purchase, it is important to find out what your FICO score is and determine if it is worth taking actions to improve it. You should do this 3 to 6 months in advance of applying for a loan, as it can take several months for your actions to improve your credit score.
