Located only minutes from downtown Chicago on Chicago's lakefront, McCormick Place is the largest and most flexible convention center in North America and attracts close to 3 million visitors annually. Comprising four state-of-the-art buildings, McCormick Place offers a combined total of over 2.6 million square feet of exhibition space – 1.2 million square feet all on one level – making it the nation’s largest convention center.

McCormick Place comprises four buildings. The North, South, and West Buildings and Lakeside Center. The biggest recurring events are the Chicago Auto Show in February each year, the International Household Goods Show in March each year, and the National Restaurant

Getting to McCormick Place - Chicago

A lot of trade shows at McCormick Place offer complimentary shuttle busses between McCormick Place and their designated Show hotels every day of the show. Be sure ti check with your convention to know if they are offering complimentary convention shuttles. This will save you some money and will also significantly reduce your travel time at rush hour.

CTA busses travel throughout the city, with more than 100 different routes. Buses stop every few blocks and several bus lines operate 24 hours. Exact change is required.

The METRA train runs north and south from the Randolph Street and Van Buren Street downtown Chicago stations to the McCormick Place Station. Tickets can be purchased at the two downtown Chicago stations. The McCormick Place Station is located on Level 2.5 off the Grand Concourse, near the main entrance to McCormick Place.

Depending on where your hotel is located, a great way to save on taxi fare when leaving McCormick Place is to take the METRA to a downtown station, and then catch a taxi from either train station to your destination.
